As raízes da educação em saúde: A contribuição das comunidades hospitalares civis e religiosas na Padânia medieval

O artigo investiga o papel crucial das comunidades hospitalares civis e religiosas na formação da educação em saúde durante a Idade Média na região da Padânia. Por meio de uma análise das origens, do desenvolvimento e das práticas educativas dessas instituições, o estudo destaca como elas contribuíram de maneira significativa para a disseminação do conhecimento médico e higiênico entre a população. O artigo evidencia a importância das comunidades hospitalares não apenas como centros de cuidado, mas também como agentes educativos capazes de influenciar as práticas sanitárias e as políticas públicas locais. Um estudo de caso específico — a Ca' Granda de Milão — aprofunda o impacto de uma única comunidade hospitalar sobre a sociedade local, ilustrando as dinâmicas entre essas instituições e o contexto socioeconômico e cultural da Padânia medieval. Por fim, o artigo reflete sobre o legado deixado por essas comunidades no campo da educação em saúde e sua relevância para os estudos contemporâneos de história da medicina e da educação em saúde.
