Educare per Curare: Il ruolo formativo delle comunità ospedaliere tardo medievali di Renania e Magonza

Abstract

Le comunità ospedaliere medievali in Renania – e Magonza in particolare – si distinguono non solo come centri di cura ma anche luoghi di formazione ed educazione sanitaria. Nell’Europa del tardo medioevo, caratterizzata da epidemie e guerre, le comunità ospedaliere svolgevano un ruolo essenziale offrendo rifugio e assistenza non solo ai malati ma anche ai poveri e ai pellegrini. Attraverso l’apprendistato e la pratica quotidiana, medici e infermieri non solo acquisivano conoscenze mediche, ma promuovevano anche valori di compassione e solidarietà. Attraverso uno studio storico, il presente lavoro mira a riconoscere il ruolo educativo di queste istituzioni nel contesto della storia della medicina e dello sviluppo delle strutture educative, proponendo una riflessione su come la loro eredità possa illuminare le pratiche educative sanitarie contemporanee.
