Abstract

This paper, commencing from the data concerning the state of employment in developed countries, aims to reflect briefly on some topics that characterize the European approach that started in the last ten years with the Lisbon Strategy, the European Employment Strategy (EES), the Bologna Process (and the European Area for higher education), and which has been recently accomplished with the launch of the 2020 strategies. For those who are involved in training and development from a pedagogical point of view,
provided with openness to multidisciplinary dimensions, five perspectives of commitment are outlined: 1) investment in human capital as primary goal, 2) primacy of social responsibility as the mainstay of growth, 3) build social networks, 4) enhancement of practical intelligence.
