Abstract

The paper presents the results of an investigation involving people with disabilities and university students on the topic of the inclusive public city. It is framed by the VIVIinclusi project, promoted by Politecnico di Milano - Campus of Lecco in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecco and nonprofit organisations. The project aims to activate action-research and co-production paths with local actors in order to identify urban innovation strategies and tools for an inclusive public city. The investigation used the method of sensobiographic walks and involved people with disabilities attending daily and residential socio-educational services in order to get to know their point of view on the city. The research not only provided elements for the second phase of co-designing, but also allowed for a critical reflection on the inclusive quality of the city and its services.
