Italian Constitution’s Article 33, Section 7: Regarding Sport and Sporting Activities

Today we can argue that there is a right to practice a sporting activity based not only on an aspect formally attributable to the constitutional provisions but also on aspects of substance and utility for our society (education of the person and sociality) and for the health of individuals. This is what is established in paragraph 7 of the article 33 of the Italian Constitutional Law of 26 September 2023, which completes a process of re-semantization of the concept of sport that has taken place over the last thirty years which recovers the values for which sport and sporting forms were born. Alongside the concept of competitive sport, this contribution combines and integrates the concepts of sporting activity to support the psycho-physical well-being and growth of men of all ages without distinctions of gender, race or economic diversity.
