Special Education for Genetic Syndromes: the Williams Syndrome

Abstract

The Genetic Syndromes represents a significant proportion of developmental
disability. Cause of the variability of the cognitive and social profile,
they require specific educational interventions. The interventions used in
Williams Syndrome, cause of cognitive and social features related to his
characteristics, can represent an educational strategy prototypical for this
order of diseases. In this paper the characteristics of the syndrome are presented
and the implications for the educational intervention are discussed.
