The present contribution presents an example of educational action research through the creation of a European project aimed at achieving, within first level secondary schools, a whole change on the issue of equal opportunities, through the realisation of an instrument (GECM, Gender Equality Charter Mark) to certify the good practices implemented by the schools themselves on this topic. Many progresses have been made through the enactment of laws and the implementation of employment policies to make the work / life balance system more equal for men and women. In fact, in the EU, female employment has reached a level of 64.5% (Gender Equality Report, 2015) but we are still far from achieving gender equality. In fact, among the numerous data sources, those relating to the Global Gender Gap (2018), confirm, in Italy, a clear disadvantage of the female condition, especially as regards work and the division of tasks within the domestic sphere. The main objective of the project is to create and disseminate a tool to help teachers to develop teaching and educational relationships based on the enhancement of gender difference and the prevention of stereotypes and gender violence that prevent the achievement of equality between men and women.
