Docimological skill to promote gifted education. A research with pre-service teacher
Abstract
Educating gifted students must be a priority for educators and education systems if society is to capitalise on their potential to contribute to an economical and sustainable future.
Given the importance of teachers in supporting academic achievement, educating preservice teachers on how to cater for gifted students commences the process as they can foster the implementation of current teaching practices that draw on substantial research into the education of gifted children.
If Evaluation process becomes an instrument for the development of talent in the classroom pre-service teacher training in docimological skill is necessary. In the educational field, talent and excellence find their substance in a singular attitude or in an accentuated interest that a person has.
This study investigates preservice teachers’ evaluation skills to promote gifted education at school.
In the research process, put in place with 287 students attending the discipline Docimology and Experimental Pedagogy in Primary Education Sciences course at the University of Palermo in A.A. 2017-2018. Through the research, the students we to enhance docimological skill as a tool to promote the enhancement of talents at school.
