Sport and Social Development: Model Comparison

This study examines the relationship between sport and social development, with a focus on three distinct models from Italy, Finland, and Brazil. It analyses the legislative frameworks, implementation strategies, and societal impacts of each model to identify key similarities and differences. The Italian model places an emphasis on promoting physical activity for the benefit of individuals and society, while the Finnish model prioritizes universal access to sport and social inclusion. In contrast, the Brazilian model uses sport as a catalyst for positive change in disadvantaged communities. This study elucidates the importance of accessibility, education, holistic approaches, evaluation, and collaboration in promoting physical activity and social well-being through comparative research. By integrating the strengths of these models, it proposes avenues for creating a healthier, more active, and inclusive society. The study aims to foster discourse and inform policy and practice in the realm of sports-based social development.
