The 2030 Agenda requires to re-signify the concept of sustainability by overcoming the restrictive vision of economic sustainability. Goal 4 focuses on building a quality education that can provide quality, fair and inclusive education. Starting from the analysis of two constructs, such as Service Learning and Generative Welfare, strengths and critical points are identified to build a new model centered on teaching. Hence the proposal of the generative teaching of solidarity. Essential and constitutive elements of this intuition
are: lifelong learning, solidarity, surplus, generating creativity, creating generativity and generative evaluation. Every single element is investigated to offer a possible teaching model that puts the student-citizen-researcher who builds his knowledge at the center in a community and common good perspective, where freedom and motivation become possible ways of being and doing because the school is a space-time of well-being and well-becoming.
