Abstract

The essay refers to one of the four pillars of education, “Learning by doing,”
as indicated in Unesco Report “Learning treasure within”. Over the last
twenty years, there have been countless changes both socially as well as
normative and educational, both in Europe with the European Apprenticeship
Alliance and in Italy with Law 107 (Good School), with a focus on Vocational
Education training (Vet) systems and Work based learning pathways.
These work-based learning schemes, which we find with more effectiveness
in alternance school –work and apprenticeships pathways, in schools
and in universities, help to tackling the youth unemployment, facilitating
transitional processes from school to work in order to improve the employability
of people.
