Apprentissage tout au long de la vie, compétences, parcours professionnel et discrimination des travailleurs âgés : une analyse critique et pédagogique des documents internationaux

L’objectif général de cet article est de vérifier si certains documents internationaux abordent la formation et l’apprentissage des travailleurs âgés selon une perspective humaniste ou selon une logique exclusivement orientée vers l’employabilité. Le protocole de recherche repose sur une méthode d’analyse qualitative fondée sur l’identification des catégories conceptuelles pédagogiques présentes et récurrentes dans six documents internationaux examinés, en vue de réaliser une analyse thématique des extraits saillants les plus représentatifs de chaque catégorie conceptuelle. Les résultats de la recherche ont, d’une part, confirmé ce que rapporte la littérature scientifique de référence, à savoir une focalisation sur des objectifs strictement liés à l’employabilité dans l’éducation des adultes ; d’autre part, ils ont mis en évidence une tentative de conciliation entre les approches humaniste et instrumentale dans la manière de considérer la formation et l’apprentissage des travailleurs âgés.
