The case of ALICE project: an European strategy meant for the implementation of informal learning environments for adults

Abstract

This paper aims at presenting the European strategy for the training of trainers within the context of a LLP-GRUNDTVIG, to be adopted for the implementation of adults’ learning pilot programmes that promote intergenerational creative experiences. This project, called ALICE (Adults Learning for Intergenerational Creative Experiences), promotes informal learning with the aim to enhance adults’ competences regarding the educational relationship
between adults and children. Its training strategy is introduced and discussed within the framework of a socio-constructivist approach that enables trainers to reflect on their own role as mediators when implementing adults’ informal learning opportunities. The latter opportunities of informal learning are regarded as a key dimension of a lifelong learning perspective for adults with low educational attainments.
