Weak or strong skills? A “new way of thinking” in the XXI century Didactics through competences as opportunity
Abstract
Media society demands an urgent reform of educational processes. The attempt
to introduce the transmission of knowledge through competences
may be an incentive to launch necessary changes in the transfer of knowledge
on a massive scale. Nowadays a lifelong education is required. It is
sometimes far removed from static teaching provided in schools and universities.
Neuroscience, effective communication techniques, hybridisation
between men and machines, intelligence for selecting information, understand
the mechanisms of mind and the consequences of the use of new
technologies on the learning ability at a cerebral level should be the key for
teachers. Will they be the true strong skills of the future? Will they be the
necessary ingredients of the “new way of thinking” of the XXI century? May
we start from these insights to rebuild democracy through education?
