A prática esportiva, a promoção da saúde e o processo educativo na adolescência

Resumo

A prática de diversas modalidades esportivas contribui para o desenvolvimento motor, mas seus efeitos vão muito além, abrangendo também as dimensões cognitivas, emocionais e sociais da pessoa e suas interconexões, transformando-se em um verdadeiro processo educativo. O esporte é um campo particularmente fértil para o aprendizado e o desenvolvimento de fatores transversais, como as Life Skills, indispensáveis para o processo educativo. O desenvolvimento dessas habilidades exige que os professores façam escolhas conscientes e deliberadas direcionadas a objetivos educacionais bem definidos. Este artigo analisa o papel da prática esportiva em contextos educacionais formais e não formais na promoção da saúde, destacando a importância da mediação didático-educativa no aprendizado das Life Skills. O desenvolvimento das Life Skills é apoiado por metodologias ativas e ambientes em que a autoavaliação e o ensino-observação entre pares são intencional e sistematicamente incentivados, além de atividades voltadas para promover a motivação intrínseca. Nesse sentido, o esporte oferece vantagens significativas, pois envolve e desenvolve aspectos emocionais e sociais.
