Resumen

Este artículo explora la singular intersección entre política, pedagogía y liderazgo para la justicia social en la educación, encarnada en la vida y el trabajo de Marielle Franco, socióloga, activista por los derechos humanos y política brasileña. Creciendo en la favela de Maré en Río de Janeiro, Franco desarrolló un enfoque activista que redefinió la teoría educativa para abordar los desafíos específicos que enfrentan las comunidades urbanas marginadas en Brasil. El artículo ofrece un análisis crítico de la filosofía educativa de Franco, su liderazgo en la promoción de la inclusión y la justicia social, su aplicación de la interseccionalidad y las implicaciones más amplias de su trabajo para las prácticas educativas contemporáneas. Además, reflexiona sobre el impacto de su asesinato en 2018, que consolidó aún más su legado como un símbolo poderoso de resistencia contra la opresión sistémica. Las contribuciones de Franco presentan un modelo convincente para integrar la educación con el activismo político y el diálogo intercultural, ofreciendo perspectivas cruciales para abordar las luchas por la diversidad en el mundo globalizado actual.
