Regina Mundi School dedicated the 2023–2024 academic year to the theme “You Are a Value,” engaging teachers, parents, and students in reflections on the unique worth of each individual. At the heart of this journey was the relationship between self-discovery and the encounter with others in an educational context. A qualitative study examined how awareness of one’s self-worth influences school relationships and student development, supporting the idea that education should enhance the unique contribution of each person. The findings revealed that empathy and affection play a crucial role in learning, influencing both motivation and knowledge acquisition, as emphasized by Carl Rogers and Lev Vygotsky. The study suggests that affective relationships are essential for an inclusive educational environment and could be further developed by exploring practices aimed at recognizing the intrinsic value of every student.
