The try-out phase of a game-based model of didactic support at university
Abstract
The contribution illustrates the try-out phase carried out within a doctoral research which envisages the creation of a game-based model of didactic support and the adoption of this model by undergraduate students of the Degree Courses in Primary Teacher Education and Educational Sciences of the University of Roma Tre which have some critical issues in their studies. Through the activities of the game-based model we intend to enhance the learning strategies of these students, using a system with characteristics derived from games and video games. Specifically, the try-out carried out in the Workshop of Educational Technologies of the Degree Course in Primary Teacher Education at the University of Roma Tre, had as its central topic the use of the conceptual framework of serious games, video games that have well-defined educational objectives, in order to promote in the students, on the one hand, the acquisition of knowledge related to these tools, on the other, the ability to design, work in groups and use the knowledge acquired through the use of the typical structure of video games.
