Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the theoretical frameworks and the methodological
aspects of the interdisciplinary teaching in order to integrate physical
education and other subject areas of the primary school curriculum. Integrating
physical education with the primary school curriculum means designing
learning objectives and contents aimed to develop of fundamental
motor skills or other educational goals fostering a Physically Literate individual.
The main interdisciplinary teaching models were described in this
paper and a theoretical development adopting an ecological and co-disciplinary
perspective was proposed in order to designing interdisciplinary
educational interventions that value the embodied dimension of the human
nature and the adaptive inclination of the mind in detecting the relationships
among the parts and attributing meanings to the whole.
