Abstract

This work arises from an inter-intra-disciplinary dialogue about the pedagogical-didactic potential of dance as an educational-therapeutic device for the treatment of psycho-emotional problems associated with obesity. The following contribution proposes a case study of 6 girls aged between 13 and 15 with obesity certified according to the WHO criteria relating to BMI (Body Mass Index). The educational-therapeutic route realized starts from the theories of Embodied Cognition Science about the role of corporeality in learning and is carried out in a 6 week educational dance program set according to the criteria of an experimental teaching methodology. The work, followed by a nutritionist in the recruitment phase of the subjects, by a psychologistpedagogist, an external pedagogist-expert and a dance-educator in the design and operational phase, is enriched with an educational interview and a brief reflection on the obtained data and future development prospects.
