Gender equality is still a key target for the EU which gives priority to equal economic independence and decision making, dignity, integrity and fighting of gender-based violence (Strategic Engagement for Gender Equality). In particular, the article compares three European countries: Spain, Portugal and Italy and the situation of these three countries in terms of gender policies. On the other hand, in addition to the statistics that many research centers provide, it is important to take into consideration some relevant method-ological approaches that can allow us to study a specific topic in greater depth, in our case gender discrimination. Finally I take in consideration the current situation of crisis and the immediate consequences on the women condition.
