Reflecting on sustainability in pandemic times: contributions and challenges from educational research

Moving from a reflection on sustainability and its strategic declinations in international agendas, also in consideration of the contemporary scenario shaped by the COVID-19 emergency, this paper proposes an analysis of the role education assumes within those strategies. Referring to the debate on the contributions of scientific research in addressing sustainable develop- ment’s challenges, the paper will argue that educational research can be con- sidered as a key aspect when it is considered as a political resource to critically think of the dimensions of sustainability.
