Educational professions in disaster scenarios: the example of the project “Velino for Children” and teacher training (Amatrice, 2016/2017)
Abstract
Since a few years, pedagogy in Italy has started to develop scientific interests
in many emergencies occurring frequently and recurrently in the national
territory. This article reflects particularly on what happened in the aftermath
of the 2016 Amatrice earthquake and furnishes proof of the activities
carried out by the project “Velino for Children”. This project dealt with
schools of the territory through specific interventions on teachers and
pupils, in the recovery activities and enhancement of resilient strategies. In
this context, the training of teachers and education teams can be considered
as an appropriate form of support for professional resilience, as well
as an enhancement and development of aid relation abilities.
