Abstract

The role played by the territory in individuals’ education has been largely
demonstrated by human sciences and moreover has been entered in several
laws. This is especially true in cases of people with visual impairment.
Anyway, this is not the case when it comes to practice: educators, in fact, often
do not apply the theories they know so well. The aim of the present
work is to show the case “Le Rive” in which the theories considering the importance
of the environment in education have been taken into account by
educators. “Le Rive” was an urban footpath built in the city of Treviso specifically
addressed to people with visual disability.
