Rethinking Internationalization in the Educational Settings of a Fluid Society

Abstract

Ten years ago it was unthinkable to meet online and experiment with an "online presence" that is engaging and motivating. The MIFORCAL case study highlighted how the Web favoured the meeting and sharing of expert knowledge between previously unconnected people. Each society has its own educational models, which provide grounds for the exchange between technology and education. Current technological advances are unprecedented and pave the way for the educational practices of tomorrow. As Vygotsky developed his theory of learning processes, which was going to impact society some 50 years later, the industrial society was developing a competing model, which opposed Vygotsky's socio-constructivism. However, the educational model developed by that industrial society was functional to the upkeep and evolution technological developments.
