Memory Responsible Sense of temporality and educational perspective
Abstract
The way a social group thinks and lives the temporal dimension of existence
decisively affects the educational dynamics. Analysing postmodern culture
allows to seize the reasons of the current centrality of the present, with respect
to the emphasis on the past (typical in traditional societies) and on the
future (typical in modern era). The essay underlines how important and essential
is to educate memory, seen as a factor that doesn’t direct to the past
but on the contrary gives everyone the opportunity of living with awareness
his time creating a new history.
