Tere are two types of calls:

• General calls are published to promote participation. If you meet the call, your article will be considered for the issue mentioned in the call. You can submit your article at a later time, but there is no guarantee it will be considered for the incoming issue: most likely, if accepted, it will be published in the miscellanea of a subsequent issue.
• Special calls are meant to gather contributions for Special Issues, which have a stronger focus on a specific topic. Special issues do not follow the regular  quarterly publication schedule of the journal and no manuscripts will be accepted after the given deadline.
