Innovative Teaching: Movement for the Psychomotor Improvement of Students

Abstract

This study explores the use of Body Percussion as an innovative approach in teaching, aiming to assess its psychomotor effects on students. By combining movement and music, Body Percussion can be integrated into the physical education curriculum. The experimental research involved 47 lower secondary school students, divided into two groups: an experimental group, where Body Percussion was integrated into physical education lessons, and a control group, which followed a traditional motor coordination programme. After eight weeks, the results showed a significant reduction in stress levels only in the experimental group and a positive trend in motor coordination improvement in both groups. Although the limited sample size calls for further studies, Body Percussion proved to be a promising methodology for enhancing student health and well-being, suggesting additional research to confirm its long-term effects.
