Narrative thinking is the interpretative key of existence and of the mental dimension. Narration and metaphor take on the function of catalysts of mental representations and as such become valuable tools and methods of investigation and intervention of the human sciences. In fact, it is not possible to speak of education and training by neglecting the images, representations and linguistic forms through which meanings express themselves. With this contribution we mean a lot of light on the importance of metaphorical language within pedagogical action and on its possible variations related to the use of images, literature and cinema within the training contexts. Finally, ref-erence will be made to a specific pedagogical approach (the training clinic) which represents a particularly fruitful example of the use of narration and metaphor in training contexts
