Environmental education. Questions on care for our common home
Abstract
Holy Father Francis, in his Encyclical Laudato si’ on care for our common
home helps us to see that an integral ecology calls for openness to categories
which transcend the language of the self interest and take us to the
heart of what is to be human. “This will help to provide an approach to ecology
which respects our unique place as human beings in this world and our
relationship to our surrounding” (Francis 2015, n. 15). Change is impossible
without motivation and a process of education. Experience, culture, involvements
and talents on care for our common home. The Siped’s working
group “Environmental education, human development, social responsibility”
contributes to develop a public debate about a new relationship between
culture and politics, economics and sciences of education.
