Abstract

This study analyzes the perception, knowledge and approach to disability among students and professionals in the health professions, with the aim of identifying training needs and proposing an innovative and inclusive teaching model. The "DIS-CARE" training project was born from the need to bridge the gap between theory and practice, promoting health education based on inclusion and the biopsychosocial model. Two online questionnaires were administered to a total sample of 250 participants (100 professionals and 150 students of the health professions). On the basis of the results, the integrated training program "DIS-CARE" was developed, divided into three modules: theoretical training, practical experience and supervised reflection. The "DIS-CARE" project would promote the development of communicative, relational and reflective skills through active and interprofessional methodologies. The study proposes an innovative training approach that integrates theoretical knowledge, practical experience and critical reflection, promoting a cultural change towards truly inclusive and person-centered healthcare.
