Assessment as learning in higher education. Promoting active learning in large classes through educational technologies
Abstract
Assessment For and As Learning are attracting growing interest in the academic field, but several difficulties in implementation are encountered. Nevertheless, educational technologies can help teachers engage students, even in large classes. In an undergraduate course within the University of Verona, an experience of Flipped Classroom, akin to the Assessment As Learning model, has been implemented to support students achieving objectives in terms both of knowledge and skills. The use of Moodle as a Learning Management System have been adopted for its contents
management, repository, and e-assessment functions, to involve students in all phases of the course actively.
