Dewey, la teoria dell’arco riflesso e la transazione
Abstract
Nel The Reflex Arc Concept in Psychology (1896) Dewey propone una spiegazione evolutiva e naturalistica dell’arco riflesso. Il presente lavoro offre un contributo agli attuali studi deweyani, sostenendo le seguenti tesi.1) La prospettiva evoluzionistica e naturalistica si sviluppa non solo in relazione al processo di base dell’arco riflesso, ma coinvolge anche la complessiva conoscenza dei processi.
2) Dal punto di vista filosofico ed epistemologico, questo approccio consente di superare il tradizionale dualismo organismo e ambiente,
mente e corpo, teoria e pratica.
3) La critica dell’arco riflesso rappresenta il primo e chiaro schema di “transazione”.
