Outdoor Education (OE) is configured as an innovative and interdisciplinary methodology, particularly effective in enhancing the Italian Inland Areas, characterised by geographical isolation and a wealth of natural and cultural resources. This contribution presents the results of a transversal study, conducted within the framework of a broader project that adopts a longitudinal design articulated in four phases: pre-intervention survey, theoretical-practical training, classroom experimentation and post-intervention analysis. The sample consisted of 28 participants (25 teachers and 3 educators) with an average age of 46.3 years, involved in activities, interdisciplinary in nature, conducted through OE principles. The evaluation of the intervention was carried out through the use of a questionnaire consisting of psychometric scales and ad hoc questionnaires to investigate the satisfaction of psychological needs, motivation, self-efficacy and perception of the effectiveness of OE. Some of the results point to high intrinsic motivation (M = 4.7; SD = 0.4) and high perceived effectiveness of OE for learning (M = 5.5; SD = 0.3). However, challenges emerged related to the logistical aspect and the need for more institutional support.
