In the contemporary context, universities are central to promoting innovative processes to address today’s many
global challenges and transformations. Their educational mission towards younger generations places them at
the heart of strategies to build more sustainable, inclusive, and just societies. Within this framework, this contribution
offers a pedagogical reflection on the intersection of the university’s core missions, highlighting the
educational potential of research to strengthen transversal
skills and foster territorial synergies. From this perspective, we present the B-YOUth Forum pedagogical facilitation
model. B-YOUth Forum is a participatory research lab for young people, developed within the broader
MUSA project. This experience allows for a discussion of the pedagogical foundations that support the need to
bring younger generations closer to the processes of scientific knowledge creation as a means of promoting citizenship
and democratic participation skills.
