Research and practice are both essential sources of educational knowledge, giving the latter
a connotation of “implication”. In reality, neither research nor practice is built mechanically,
according to an instrumental rationality. Both are structured by articulating a
multiplicity of possibilities and choices, which must be taken into account to understand
their fundamentals and implications. Knowing and recognizing the different forms of
educational knowledge, promoting their complementarity, supporting and evaluating
them in a competent and correct way are responsibilities that unite educational, scientific
and political work, despite their different roles.
