Developing adult competences by building on children’s competences

Abstract

The topic of competences on the one hand and the creation of an integrated system of services for childhood from 0 to 6 years on the other, represent two current issues, referred to in literature as well as by European and international legislative indications. This contribution forms part of a training activity which draws together and problematizes these two demands, involving all the educators, teachers and educational coordinators of the educational services and pre-schools for children aged 0 to 3 in an area in the province of Bergamo. In presenting some first results of the two years of work carried out to date, this article considers certain issues and parts of the project that are particularly incisive from a training perspective, both for the professional development
of the educators, teachers and coordinators involved and for the start of a process of coconstruction of the broadest integrated educational system of the services and schools in which they operate at local level.
