Training of professionals in the P.I.P.P.I. program

Abstract

In P.I.P.P.I. professionals receive an initial training and follow several sessions throughout the program in order to facilitate the learning on knowledge and skills underpinning the implementation. The article deals with the initial training and focuses particularly on the methodological choices that were made within participatory approach characterizing the program.
The activities and techniques are here briefly illustrated and are linked to a conception of the learning of professionals intended as the explanation and revision of their theories.The intersubjective
and interdisciplinary context in training aim at fostering the narration and reflection on the experience with families. An example of a training session which has as content the concept of “parenting” and “negligence” is reported and discussed.
