Abstract

Reflections are proposed on socio-educational interventions aimed at families in situations of socioeconomic poverty with children aged 0 to 3 y.o., stemming from research conducted in the years 2020-2022, targeted on families receiving the Citizenship Income. Although the literature agrees that relationships experienced within the family are one of the major protective factors in development, early childhood is underexplored concerning families living in conditions of poverty and stress, which may lead to difficulties in meeting growth needs at this age. The research Interrelationships between income, parenting, and children’s needs (RDC03) has provided social workers, educators and psychologists with the opportunity to experiment with participatory and transformative assessment path-ways with families, to collectively understand the needs of children and the strategies to address them.
