The educational practice with unaccompanied migrant children
Abstract
This paper focuses on the educational practice with unaccompanied migrant children. In order to avoid triviality the article opens by telling three stories of foreign minors who came to Italy alone and then drafts some aspects of the pedagogical framework towards a residential-care system.
With respect to this issue, two results of a research-action in an residential-care structure are proposed: the first refers to the necessary width of the pedagogical project in order to avoid the risk of a functionalist approach. The second result gives voice to the interviewed educators who – on the basis of a reflective path – try to outline some of their most effective educational practices.
