Abstract

Formative orientation is a complex concept related to the construction of a person’s identity and it includes a process and a project dimension. The project dimension refers to a certain period of time, while the process dimension guarantees an holistic approach to formative orientation limiting the risk of splitting and wasting of actions and resources.
The focus is on preventing unrealistic decisions by supporting students to make choices that correspond to their real expectations, personal interests and talents, trying to enhance their differences.
An “orientational teaching” should take the task of supporting the formative component of the Formative Orientation by enhancing the limits and the resources of each student.
