Abstract

The study aims to analyze the ways in which a certain vision of European identity, reflecting a culture of integration developed through collaboration between different nations and respectful of differences, has been promoted within the production of children's books. Through the analysis of some examples, the research intends to highlight the argumentative strategies that have been constructed in supporting a cultural project for the education of young European citizens. In this regard, significant elements of the investigation will focus on the ways that have allowed models of children's and youth literature to embody the ideas of cultural unity/diversity and international cooperation within the EU. Based on this approach, the study will also examine the capacity of children's literature to serve as a cultural platform for fostering civic-political education themes, as well as for initiating bridges conducive to intercultural dialogue, thereby strengthening the sense of European citizenship.
