Abstract

University must assume an educational, training, ethical and deontological duty and purpose of protecting psycho-physical and social-community well-being, which goes beyond the educational and informative aspect of knowledge, culture and the relationship between student and teacher , with particular attention and priority to the student-Person. The role of universities today becomes, in fact, that of training and caring for people in a multidimensional vision and approach to well-being that includes subjective, psychological, psychosocial and socio-community dimensions in balance and interdependence between them. Well-being, therefore, starts from a positive and proactive state determined by the satisfaction of subjective and objective expectations, expectations and needs of people, relationships, organizations and communities. An illuminating example of this is the Wellbeing Project  Proben, submitted to funding by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), led by the University of Foggia, for the promotion of psycho-physical well-being, to counteract critical issues and the phenomena of psychological and emotional distress of the student population, teachers and technical-administrative staff. The project develops and unfolds according to four challenges: community well-being; occupational-economic well-being; interpersonal and psychological well-being; physical well-being, through a questionnaire and multiple activities and initiatives aimed at developing an educational and pedagogical intervention model, which promotes well-being, counteracting psychological and pathological dependencies of various kinds and nature.
