Abstract

The current social, cultural, techno-scientific and not least ecological revolutions pose indifferent challenges to the various education professionals in promoting sustainable, capacitative and inclusive human development.

First and foremost, there is the need to promote a widespread educational ecosystem that connects the school, the social community, the territory and the various agencies to co-generate community educational pacts. In this vision, the city becomes an outdoor educating space, a “decentralised didactic classroom”, widespread whose co-designing becomes a true educational device capable of promoting social cohesion, exchange between generations, and of combating old and new educational poverty. The contribution presents an action-research for a widespread educational ecosystem integrated between school and city. It aims to investigate innovative learning environment models on a continuum between architectural and pedagogical design, between formal education and the territory as an informal educational space. In this context making innovation means generating learning environments in continuity between outside and inside in an osmotic and connective logic.
