Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of teachers in school programs from 1955 and traces teachers’ education in a gender-based perspective. Particular attention is given to certain contributions published in “Scuola Italiana Moderna” between 1950 and 1960, specifically concerning male teachers’ unemployment, which one can view as at least partially related to some conservative aspects of the Ermini programs, even as one recognizes their innovative value.
