Abstract

The provision of education requires an educator who is first and foremost a recognized and recognizable professional, who is able to cope with the demands of an educational practice that is being given ever greater responsibility in today’s fluid society, governed as it is by nebulous interests and passions. At the same time, new contexts for the development of educational practice, in particular among peer groups, require a new concept of community welfare, which is able to evolve in response to contributions from pedagogic research. This paper, therefore, aims to investigate possible scenarios in the role of the professional educator in the wake of the introduction of the 205/2017 law which sets out, from a legal perspective, the duties and protections of the educator. The possibility, indeed the necessity, of investigating new contexts for the development of educational relationships becomes a challenge that can no longer be postponed.
