School & University: making a system and creating synergies for the Plan for Education about Sustainability

Abstract

In the human perspective of peace, justice and inclusion, education for sustainability becomes a cultural challenge and an educational priority. The international guidelines call for education to “drive the change” of society and culture in order to implement initiatives too early aimed to promote a sustainable development. Therefore, the correspondence between education and sustainability requires an investment in education and training. Respecting the human rights of all people, these investments help to promote sustainable and inclusive societies. In fact, school and university share the task to objectify the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Together,
they search to foster a fair and inclusive education about quality and learning
opportunities for all.
