Pedagogists and educators in emergencies. Reflections, stimuli and experiencies for a professionalism laid out in catastrophe situations
Abstract
It would be desirable to think in Italy of the possibility of introducing emergency
pedagogy as a theoretical and operational proposal – still extensively to be developed – that should be placed between reflection, research and pedagogical intervention.
This also refers to the question on the skills of educational professions during
emergencies, whose role is actually compensated for by subjects not properly trained in the pedagogical field. There are numerous national and international organizations that intervene in emergencies contexts by managing services, by supporting the educational systems of territories in crisis and by designing pedagogical projects that cover many fronts in which emergencies occur.
