Effective planning in the new Italian University Departments: between the verticalisation of the decisional process and the connections with the areas concerned

Abstract

The contribution discusses the role played by the Departments in developing effective education for the young people, in spreading culture in society, in supporting the growth of an institution which is considered at European level authoritative both in research and teaching. On the basis of useful data for deeper analysis and of some studies published in the field, it draws a picture of a University faced with many criticalities, between the shadows and lights of the current reform and the ideal drives that have always supported it.
