Abstract

Detection of people with severe mental illness has become more frequent in the last few decades, along
with the amount of elder inmates. Authors discuss some reasons behind this International trend and issues
about management of mental patients in prison. Last, authors propose ethic approaches for an adequate
treatment of inmates suffering for mental illnesses
